My Ex-Boss John Is A Dick

There's a little-seen Michael Caine movie called A SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM that I only remember because of one bit of dialogue.  Caine's character is being questioned by a detective after going postal and murdering his employer.  The cop asks, "He was your superior, wasn't he?"  "No," Caine replies calmly, "he was my boss."

    Now, my full name is unimportant for the purposes of this rant.  I'm just Al to you.  And the name of the company I worked for is also irrelevant.  Let's say I worked for a subsidiary of The Acme Group Corporation in Springfield, U.S.A.  If you're ever in town and stop by the local convenience store to pick up a Squishee, be sure to say hi to Apu.  Finally, my ex-boss's full name is also unnecessary.  I'll stop at John T.

    What IS important here is the fact that my ex-boss John, the guy who fired me recently, is a dick.

    Define "dick," you say?

    Well, the obvious slang definition applies, but in this case I would add: "a man who is effete, hypocritical, phony, and chickenshit."

    Just a general, all-around dick.
